BJP's twelfth list: Diverse candidates for Lok Sabha elections

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has unveiled its twelfth list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections, adding seven more names to the electoral fray. These candidates represent a diverse mix from states including Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and West Bengal.

Diverse representation

Maharashtra: Chhatrapati Udayanraje Bhonsale, hailing from the lineage of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, has been nominated to contest from Satara. Bhonsale, a prominent political figure, is set to challenge NCP(SP) candidate Shashikant Shinde, aiming to turn the tide from the previous election.

West Bengal: Abhijit Das is the BJP's candidate for the Diamond Harbour seat in West Bengal, going head-to-head against Abhishek Mukherjee, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) candidate and Mamata Banerjee's nephew. Diamond Harbour has been Abhishek Banerjee’s stronghold since 2014.

5.) Thakur Vishwadeep Singh - Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh
6.) Shashank Mani Tripathi - Deoria, Uttar Pradesh
7.)  Abhijit Das (Bobby) - Diamond Harbour, West Bengal

Election schedule and outlook

The electoral process kicks off on April 19, with the final results expected on June 4, 2024. As the 17th Lok Sabha assembly's term concludes on June 16, 2024, these elections are pivotal. The seven-phase elections, spanning from April 19 to June 1, 2024, are poised to shape the political landscape significantly.
